History

Shelton Waggener founded The CIO Perspective after spending more than 20 years working with internal clients and external technology providers who stuggled to understand how to achieve the business results leveraging technology. Too often internal clients didn't know what was possible and external providers didn't understand the needs of the business.  While working with fellow CIO's throughout the Silicon Valley and peers at other research universities, it was clear working collaboratively to achieve mutual success was the best path. The CIO Perspective was established to fill that gap and share with others what was learned collaborating between some of the worlds greatest universities including UC Berkeley, Caltech, Indiana, MIT,  Michigan, Stanford, and many others.
